Drone Uncapping Fork for Mite Detection

This Fork is used to lift drone pupae out of the cells to check for Varroa Mite. Testing for Varroa Mite is required by Law of Registered Bee Keepers under the Biosecurity Act. Either a Sugar Shake or Alcohol Wash test PLUS drone uncapping is the minimum requirement  in Spring and Autumn.

Note: this is honey fork…. the same honey fork that’s used in uncapping low areas of wax capping on honey frames. You may already have one.
